Single Bass Drum Pedals

Whether you need a bass drum pedal in order to complete your drum set or you want to upgrade the one you already have, choosing the right pedal can be difficult. Just like drum sticks, bass drum pedals are very personal. We tested 14 different single bass drum pedals and compared their features, playing feel and value for money.

The pedals we tested were all chain drive, because this is widely considered as „standard“. In our price range from 90 € to 359 €, we were amazed to see what some of the more inexpensive pedals have to offer. Although there were some smaller issues in all price classes, most pedals are well built and their price dictates how many features and adjustments you can expect. However, some of the more expensive pedals also left us wondering what exactly justifies their cost.
