Project Description
Drum ‘n’ Bass
Reproducing electronic drum sounds on an acoustic kit has become a major challenge for drummers today. One of the first genres that brought this development to life was jungle and later drum and bass music.
When the producers used older funk tracks to sample and loop drumgrooves they created a sound ideal that drummers hat to fulfill afterwards. By speeding up the original recordings they also ended up with higher drumsounds. Drummers had to come up with cranked up drums and smaller sizes to meet the expectations.
Furthermore sampling and programming became more and more common as musicians saw themselves confronted with synthetic grooves and sounds. New ideas to change the sound of your drums came to be and changed the game for many drummers.
We want to show you these three drum sounds and some simple tricks to meet the sound ideals of Drum‘n‘Bass.
